This year’s fall outing is a visit to the National Museum of American Jewish History for a group tour of a new exhibit on the life of Ruth Bader Ginsburg, to be followed by lunch at the Museum. The event is scheduled for Thursday, November 7th, beginning at 10 am.
The Museum was founded in 1976 and was originally located in the building housing Congregation Mikveh Israel. It is now situated in much larger space in a new building at Fifth and Market Streets. This location opened to the public in November 2010.
The Museum is the first East Coast stop for Notorious RBG: The Life and Times of Ruth Bader Ginsburg. It will be on view from October 4th through January 12th. The exhibit is based on the best-selling book of the same name. It covers Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s days as a student, her work as a lawyer and advocate for women’s rights, and her role on the Supreme Court. See https://www.nmajh.org/rbg/. The tour will last 90 minutes and will be followed by lunch presented by the Museum’s caterer.
Parking is available at numerous nearby garages and lots, and two offer discounts for visits to the Museum. Details are on the Museum website.
Cost of the guided tour is $15 per person for Museum members, and $20 for those who are not Museum members. This fee includes general admission to the Museum and the catered lunch.
