DESCRIPTION:Register\n\n\n\n\nJoin us for a “bring your own brown bag lunch” lecture in the McNeil Building or on Zoom. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nMultiple interventions have been shown to increase lifespan in short-lived laboratory models. But will this hold true in humans? This talk will examine some of the data that have been used to argue for and against the idea that lifespan can be improved.

SUMMARY:John Heinz National Wildlife Refuge at Tinicum
DESCRIPTION:Register\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWith over 300 bird species detected at Heinz National Wildlife Refuge\, located in the city of Philadelphia\, this refuge has the second largest list of bird species for any area in the state of Pennsylvania. As a result\, this site is one of the most popular birding hotspots in Philadelphia. On May 5th 2026 we will explore some of what Heinz has to offer with a walk on the trails\, along the impoundment and in warbler woods. This is peak migration time and if we are lucky and have optimal conditions we could hear and see between 50-75 species of birds on a walk. Expect to walk between 1 and 1.5 miles over 2-2.5 hours. Wear comfortable shoes\, bring water and snacks and a good pair of binoculars or a camera with a telephoto lens. \n\n\n\nPlease use this link\, https://maps.app.goo.gl/1uXo3XGPu1ih2obo9 to navigate to the refuge and meet in the parking lot in front of the visitor’s center. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPenn Libraries have Birdwatching Backpacks that can be borrowed with a PennKey and an active PennCard. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe Free Library of Philadelphia also has Birding Backpacks that can be borrowed.
