Sample Talk Topics or Titles:
- Shakespeare and Women
This talk is based on my book, Shakespeare and Women. It focuses on the chapter entitled “Our Canon, Ourselves,” where I argue that the plays we choose to emphasize nowadays may tell us more about our own assumptions about women than they do about those of Shakespeare and his original audiences. The main examples I discuss are The Taming of The Shrew and The Merry Wives of Windsor. - Our Shakespeare, Our Selves
