Biography: Dr. Rebecca N. Ichord was a Professor of Neurology at PSOM. She received her MD from George Washington University School of Medicine, and completed a fellowship in Neurodevelopmental Disabilities at the Kennedy Krieger Institute in Baltimore, followed by pediatric neurology residency at the Johns Hopkins Medical Institutions. She was a member of the Pediatric Neurology division at Johns Hopkins until she relocated to the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia in 2002.  She founded and directed the Pediatric Stroke Program at CHOP, and led the neurocritical care consultation service. She has been codirector of the Pediatric Neurocritical Care Fellowship program in partnership with Alexis Topjian of the Critical Care Medicine Department.  Dr. Ichord’s clinical practice and research endeavors have focused primarily on the diagnosis and treatment of stroke in infants and children. She has also made contributions to research in acute brain injury due to cardiac arrest and traumatic brain injury.
