Coral reefs are among the most diverse ecosystems on our planet, yet over half of the world’s corals have been lost over the last century due to a combination of human disturbances including fishing, pollution, and climate change. Coral reefs are particularly sensitive to ocean warming, and my research investigates how dynamic ocean environments might promote coral resilience and survival in our rapidly changing seas.
